Abstract

This presentation is based on an analysis of tseltal writer Josias Lopez Gomez's La aurora lacandona, in which the problem of representation of the other is address from within the maya community. The study explores topics such as Eurocentrism, position of the lettered culture as opposed to indigenous communities, decolonization and occidentalism.
