The presentation would be based on a research going on in two regions in Amazonia, the northern province of Sucumbios where one of the first “Cities of the Millenium” has been built in the Playas de Cuyabeno kichwa community in order to focus new relations between State and indigenous communities based on development benefits to communities that accept extractive activities in their territories. Other case study is located in Pastaza in central Amazonia where the XI Oil Round has been held in order to enlarge oil extraction areas to new indigenous territories, causing divisions in communities and indigenous organizations, some of them with great expectation towards development programs to be implemented by the governmental regime so called "Socialism of XXI century". New dilemmas are faced by indigenous people and maybe a new era of civilizing projects that intend to integrate communities, nature and territories in Amazonia.
