Session Submission Type: Workshop
This invited double roundtable brings together intellectuals from throughout the Americas for a discussion of indigenous and afro-descendant knowledge practices and alternative forms of knowledge production. The session is conceived as a conversation guided by questions generated by the organizers to raise relevant issues around decolonizing methodologies, activist scholarship, and/or subjugated knowledge practices of marginalized communities. Participants will engage these questions and the comments of other panelists through the lens of their own research, highlighting the valuable work being done throughout the hemisphere. Discussants will draw out areas of convergence/divergence and share their insights to enrich the dialogue.
