Session Submission Type: Panel
Over the last decade critics of contemporary Latin American Art have emerged in disciplines others to Art History, mainly Literature. This expansion of disciplinary boundaries has happened in relation to three main questions: conceptualism; neoliberal and postmodern politics; medium specificity. These panels bring together scholars from Art History and Literature, to make manifest the contamination of disciplines and fields, to explore how art historians and literary critics might speak differently about a same object, and to allow for collaborations. The panels place these questions in relationship to the notion of the contemporary, arguing the contemporary as expansion, contamination and collaboration.
