Abstract

This workshop is structured as an open conversation to discuss the continuing work and creative tensions involved in bridging Latin@ Studies and Latin American Studies. We will explore the ways Latin@ Studies influences Latin Americanist-trained approaches to the Americas, as well as how LASA imagines Latin@ Studies. We will also discuss how Latin@ Studies/Latin American Studies becomes understood institutionally on college and university campuses, and what LASA can do to strengthen the bridging
