Session Submission Type: Panel
The session will focus on the challenges facing women across national, ethnic, and class lines as they seek to define and defend their rights within a modern political context. This will include studies of the pursuit of voting rights, human rights in the context of crime and sexuality, and access to social services such as education and health care. By comparing these campaigns, the papers will reflect the overall status of the women’s movement as integral to any effort to improve a society.
