Session Submission Type: Panel
This panel is part of a new wave in the study of the Cuban history which seeks to revolutionize the historiography of the Cuban Revolution by rethinking the political polarization central to many Cold-War-era studies and incorporating previously underused or difficult to access materials as well as new, transnational perspectives from both on and off the island. Many studies of the Cuban Revolution focus on the periods of consolidation during the 1960s or the erosion of the 1990s, but this panel’s focus on the 1970s will allow insight into an understudied yet crucial period of institutionalization of the Revolution.
