Session Submission Type: Panel
This panel aims at creating a debate about the different approaches and labels that have been used to define Latin American cultural production. In the case of the Crack group, its members promoted a new global form of understanding Latin American literature of the new millennium using representations of science and technology. The audiovisual representations of Narco-violence distributed internationally project a hegemonic and fictitious image of the continent. Finally, we will address the question of how useful will it be to read Latin American cultural production in dialogue with the work of artists from different cultural backgrounds in similar circumstances.
