Cuba’s Internationalism in the Asia-Pacific Region: A Paradigm of South-South Cooperation

Abstract

From the earliest years of the revolution, Cuba has shared its scant resources with other nations of the developing world. This paper will examine the numerous and varied ways Cuba has assisted newly independent countries such as Timor Leste and Vanuatu along with several other island nations. It will also assess the significance and success of the application Cuba’s adult literacy program ‘Yes I can’ in Indigenous communities in Australia and New Zealand.
