Session Submission Type: Symposium
As a field, we know little about how disciplinary literacy instruction may be enacted in the elementary grades where teachers are less likely to have disciplinary expertise than secondary teachers who specialise in various disciplines. The three papers in this symposium explore disciplinary literacy instruction in three different elementary classrooms in three different contexts. Two classrooms focus on social studies and the other classroom focuses on science.
