Abstract

This Ethnicity, Race, and Multilingualism Committee sponsored alternative session brings together five researchers who work with practicing teachers, pre-service educators, and Black girls to share findings from their work informed by a Black girls’ literacy framework. Their research traverses the multiple literacies of writing, digital media, advocacy, and community engagement. This session will include a panel presentation, followed by roundtable conversations, and conclude with a discussion about curricular implications, with a specific focus on advocacy.
