This presentation will present the results of a poetic analysis of the critical literacies of a group of BIPOC youth participatory action researchers (Cammarota & Fine, 2008; Mirra et al, 2016). Using asset approaches to youth literacies and theories of critical literacies, I will illuminate the ways that youth used literacy in both official school moments and in their everyday ways of knowing, being, and doing in a terrain of injustice.
