Abstract

Our Writing Matters is a community literary space offering free daily writing programming for children and adolescents. During the pandemic, the center launched an initiative to enhance community wellness, specifically tackling food insecurity, exercise, and community perceptions. While the center continues to prioritize teaching writing, this case study explores how these initiatives intersected to influence how children and adults read, write, and understand their own literacy and wellness.
