Abstract

In the context of a second Trump administration, the hostile sociopolitical rhetoric directed towards immigrants is inescapable. Yet, the children in migrant camps in Mexico offer a glimmer of hope. In our current study, we focused on educational and emotional support for the children in the camps. We sought to understand how children in the camps interacted with a therapy dog and how those interactions might help facilitate educational activities and support social-emotional well-being.
