Abstract

This presentation examines how virtual exchanges can support biliteracy and global literacy development for students engaged in a German and U.S. middle school classroom partnership. Findings highlight important dynamics of language flexibility, heightened engagement, and cultural consciousness. This study addresses important implications for integrating interactive and immersive language experiences in middle school language immersion research and provides concrete ideas for expanding global citizenship practices in the classroom.
