Situated in a faculty of education literacy clinic, mentors describe how they support concurrent education undergraduates who tutor K-12 students. The eleven mentors were interviewed and data analyses illuminated four themes that describe the interactions and dynamics among students, families, schools, tutors and their mentor colleagues: mentors as tutors’ coaches; mentors as communication bridges; mentors as collegial supporters; mentors guided by tutoring administrators. Implications for literacy teacher educators are discussed as closure for this presentation.
