This study explores the colorful dialogue of emergent pre-K writers composing eBooks at a writing table. Qualitative ethnographic techniques were used to collect data of multiple modalities, which were then analyzed through inductive coding. Results revealed how a group of female emergent writers from different language and racial backgrounds collectively leveraged the writing table as a digital makerspace, affording themselves the freedom to confidently make meaning with their work, despite their limited emergent writing vocabulary.
