The findings present that immigrant families’ literacy practices were closely linked to their families’ cultural practices and that the immigrant parents highly valued education. The findings informed recommendations for classroom teachers and schools, such as incorporating students’ literacy and families’ cultural practices into curricula and facilitating effective home-school communication.
