Research in disciplinary literacy can guide educators as they usher students into the language use and meaning-making strategies of disciplines. In ELA, a disciplinary literacy approach can help teachers develop instructional strategies that move students toward interpretative stances. The studies featured in this session engaged participants from three different contexts in the Say Something Interpretive (Authors, 2019, 2020) strategy. Data were analyzed using the Generating/Weaving/Curating heuristic (Authors, 2022). Findings point to the recursive nature of interpretation.
