The objective of this round-table session is to present the development of a robust self-efficacy instrument for college textbook reading. In this research-in-progress report, we discuss our cyclical approach to constructing/testing/revising the instrument. Our presentation will focus on plans for the final stage of testing and revision that includes a Confirmatory Factor Analysis to confirm model fit and that the latent variables we identified are indicative of the constructs the scale is designed to inform.
