This study explores the use of avatar-based simulations as an early field experience (EFE) for pre-service elementary teachers (PSTs). Through qualitative analysis, findings suggest that these simulations enhance PSTs’ confidence, reflective practice, and literacy instruction skills. By bridging theory and practice in a low-stakes environment, avatar technology offers a promising tool for teacher preparation, fostering equitable and student-centered learning experiences.
