This qualitative study explores the linguistic and cultural adjustment of an eight-year-old bilingual child, whose first language is Nepali, in the US. Analyzing journal entries written in English and Nepali, interviews, observations, and artifacts, the research reveals the challenges and facilitating elements of this transition. It highlights the role of biliteracy practices in navigating new linguistic and cultural landscapes, demonstrating a complex interplay of emotional and practical factors in the child's adjustment.
