In this qualitative metasynthesis, we focus on findings related to families and literacy from studies conducted by BIPOC scholars. Our goal is to amplify the rich literacies and cultural practices documented by these scholars while interrogating problematic and dominant narratives. We insist that educators and researchers move beyond recognition to action by bridging divides, amplifying marginalized voices, and cultivating just and inclusive literacy scholarship and practice.
