Elementary Teachers' Processing of Socioscientific Issues

Abstract

This project seeks to support elementary teachers in developing and promoting socioscientific literacy. Through integrating perspectives from science education with science disciplinary literacy, we explore how teachers themselves make sense of socioscientific issues in order to better understand how to support their instruction that can support students in developing their own skills in questioning scientific issues in their world.
