Using AI Tools to Improve Chinese Immigrants’ English Reading Proficiency: A Community-based Case Study

Abstract

This community-based case study examines how young Chinese immigrants utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools to interact with learning content and connect with their peers. Grounded in the Connectivism framework, this study investigates the collaborative use of AI tools within a bilingual learning community to improve learners’ English reading proficiency. It calls for future research on the use of AI tools in bilingual learning communities to support literacy development and promote multicultural perspectives in meaning making.
