This survey study uncovers bilingual children’s beliefs and strategies when reading math materials. Drawing upon the sociocultural and translanguaging theories, the findings from student surveys demonstrate the math reading strategies that elementary bilingual children have. The findings suggest “productive action” for biliteracy research and will help all stakeholders reflect on bilingual math literacy and help emergent bilinguals achieve academic success.
