This study explored how a father supported his three-year-old's literacy development using shared book reading (SBR) across a 13-month period. Using qualitative thematic analysis, we identified the father’s key practices, including building background knowledge, fostering engagement, and reinforcing foundational literacy skills. Over time, these practices evolved with an increased focus on letter-sound relationships and word reading. The findings highlight the importance of consistent SBR routines and fathers’ active involvement in promoting literacy development.
