Abstract

In this analysis, we explore data collected as part of a larger case study following English students in an initial teacher certification program through their methods courses, student teaching experiences, and into their first year of teaching. Here we focus on just one new teacher, Elaina, as an illustrative case for considering the ways students might take up humanizing pedagogies and how that may be translated through manifestations of niceness and whiteness.
