A Community Cultural Wealth Approach to Teacher Development

Abstract

This study examines data from a Grow Your Own (GYO) teacher program that is grounded in Community Cultural Wealth perspective (CCW). We have made concerted efforts to conduct the project multilingually beginning with recruitment and continuing into evaluation/data collection. Here, we examine the recruitment materials and participant CCW reflection activity from over 100 aspiring multilingual teachers of color. Implications and insights for GYO programs and multilingual recruitment and data collection are discussed.
