This study reviews empirical research on parent-child shared book reading in Chinese and English contexts from 2005 to 2025, using bibliometric analysis of CNKI and Web of Science databases. It explores trends, cultural influences, and educational policies shaping early literacy practices. Findings reveal growing academic interest, with Chinese research focusing on practical strategies and rural contexts, while English studies emphasize language acquisition, intervention, and family influence.
