Who are our students reading? The shifting national landscape of post-secondary English

Thu, December 4, 1:15 to 2:45pm, Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino, Floor: Mezzanine Floor, Sunset 3

Abstract

Amidst the current U.S. government’s slash and burn approach to DEI in education, we conducted a content analysis of the demographics of authors in U.S. college English courses. We analyzed course descriptions from post-secondary schools in eight states, asking: Who are college students reading in English class? How might their experiences differ across institution types? And how can we use current content analyses as a baseline to measure damage to diversity in education?
