Session Submission Type: Symposium
This symposium highlights three qualitative studies examining ongoing challenges faced by literacy educators who work within increasingly politicized and contentious policy contexts. Each study uniquely examines how particular contexts inform teacher decision-making using different methods. Each study grapples with the conference theme of literacy professionals' collaboration and engagement toward productive action to recognize, repair, and propose ways forward in education as a public good for children and a democratic society.
