Powerful allies, ailing residents, and unsophisticated investors: Adding nuance to narrative characters with social construction

Brief Overview

Using Social Construction theory and NPF’s character types, we analyzed 3000 news articles focusing on hydraulic fracturing in five states with the objective of examining how target populations are constructed as characters within policy narratives.
