Public Support for Carbon Dioxide Tax in Different Political Contexts. The Effect of Compensatory Measures on Policy Support in the United States, Canada, Germany and Sweden.

Brief Overview

We demonstrate that public support for a CO2 tax on gasoline can be increased by combining it with compensatory measures such as a simultaneous income tax-cut financed by the CO2 tax. The study uses data from the US, Canada, Germany and Sweden.
