When are decision-making procedures accepted by the elite? The case of referendums

Brief Overview

This paper shows that elites and citizens are congruent on how they perceive the legitimacy of a majority-rule procedure. The conclusions are drawn from a survey experiment administered to both elected official and the general population in Norway.
