How Partisan Is Local Law Enforcement? Evidence from Sheriff Cooperation with Immigration Authorities

Brief Overview

Is local law enforcement conducted differently based on the party in power? Using an RDD in a new dataset of over 3,200 sheriff elections and administrative data on ICE-sheriff attention, I find that Dems and Reps comply at nearly the same rate.
