Policy Domains of Federal Agencies as Inferred from Lobbying

Brief Overview

We present an exploratory factor analysis that infers the policy domains of federal agencies via the behavior of lobbyists. Our approach condenses over 60 federal agencies into a handful of core policy domains which explain much of lobbying behavior.
