Teachers’ Online Petitions in Authoritarian China: A Research Based on a National-Wide Political Forum (2008-2019)

Brief Overview

This paper uses big data methods to analyses teachers’ online petitions on their payments. By subtracting related demands from 1.74 million messages, we find that a centralised wage system is a fundamental cause for the increasing petitions.
