Representing Equity: An examination of Descriptive Representation at the State and Local Level

Brief Overview

I examine how descriptive representation reduce racial disparities. I use a new theory of multilevel minority incorporation, and a new dataset of 10,000 representatives. My analysis supports the increased minority rep. leads to lower disparities.
