Rainy Friday: Religious Participation and Protests

Brief Overview

I analyze the effects of religious attendance on protests by exploiting an analytical opportunity in Islamic Friday prayer in Africa. By using Friday rainfall as an exogenous variation, I show that it hampers religious mobilization.
