Political Selection Effects of Renomination

Fri, April 8, 11:30am to 1:00pm CDT (11:30am to 1:00pm CDT), TBA

Brief Overview

I study incumbent renomination in the context of electoral coalitions. I find that party leaders are willing to sacrifice popular legislators that are not ideologically aligned with their party because coalitions make a party’s brand more vulnerable.
