LGBTQ+ Rights and Public Perceptions of Judicial Bias

Brief Overview

Using experimental data we demonstrate citizens perceive judicial decisions affirming LGBTQ+ rights as more biased when the judge is LGBTQ+. Our findings complicate ideas of judicial legitimacy by showing minority judges are perceived as more biased.
