Anger, Negative Partisanship, and Joy in the Suffering of Political Others

Brief Overview

Using an experiment, we show that anger elicits joy in the suffering of others towards out-partisan neighbors, but not towards out-partisan politicians. Consequences for inter-party affect and its implications are discussed.
