This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us: Incorporated Areas and Ideological Sorting

Brief Overview

Testing if partisan sorting and polarization occur at the very local level, I combine precinct-level 2020 election results with municipal boundaries. I find that support for Joseph Biden decreases discontinuously just outside town boundaries.
