When do States Establish Anti-Corruption Institutions?

Brief Overview

Using evidence from China, the U.S., and Brazil, I argue that two conditions are necessary for the government to initiate anti-corruption institutions: a credible citizen threat to reduce corruption and a long regime survival horizon.
