Double Pressure from Top and Bottom: The Impact of International Mega-events on the Responsiveness of Local Governments

Brief Overview

This study uses a "condensed sandwich" model to analyze mega-events' effect on local government responsiveness. Results show that public demands and government responses both increase before events, particularly for those attended by state leaders.
