Out of the Closet, Into the Chamber: Analyzing the Legislative Behavior of Openly LGBTQ Politicians

Brief Overview

Using UK parliamentary speech data, I find that openly LGBTQ legislators are more likely than their non-LGBTQ peers to advocate for both the LGBTQ community and their home constituencies while also exhibiting stronger support for their party.
