Hobbes’ Leviathan in the Genre of Apocalypse: Cosmogony, Eschatology, and Political Order

Brief Overview

In this paper I put forth an original interpretive proposal for reading Hobbes' Leviathan in the literary genre of apocalypse. I argue that Hobbes articulates a novel conception of the apocalyptic as pertaining to both revelation and eschatology.
