On the Measurement of Basic Values and their Relationship to Political Attitudes

Brief Overview

We develop a new approach to measuring basic values in Schwartz Value Theory. We use generalized additive models to explore the relationship between positions in value space and a variety of political attitudes in both the United States and Uruguay.
