From Division to Action? Mobilizing Women Through Gender Consciousness Framing

Brief Overview

This paper examines how American women respond to efforts to mobilize them as a group. Using interviews and experiments, I find that framing that raises awareness of gender inequality increases women’s group consciousness and political engagement.
